In the cocoon chapter 1Chapter 1: The day, that has become night.
1070 years ago. Canterlot.
“Be quiet,” said a soft, yet strangely familiar male voice. “I think he’s starting to wake up.”
The head was wrapped in lines of tight bandages, rough and uneven. This was his first and the sharpest feeling – that something alien and interfering, irritating the skin was wrapped around his forehead and around his temples. It was dark, almost like night time in a damp cellar. His thoughts were mixing together, refusing to make a clear picture. Everything, that happened before Starswirl lost conscious, it was all returning in very far away images, which he couldn’t add up or make sense off. Inside his head, he felt a very painful, desperate confusion, that didn’t wish to stop or simmer down.
“Starswirl,” spoke another familiar voice, this one being really close to his ear. “Starswirl, can you hear me?”

"Alucard, I twisted my foot!" The boy yelled once more, sitting on the steps and rubbing it.
"Is that my problem?" The vampire asked, not even turning around. By the sound of his voice, he was smirking once again.
"No, but you could have waited for me"

"Is it so hard not to be an arsehole?" The boy hissed, trying to stand up, but should he move the weight as the pain would return back in his foot. "Be..understanding…and…nice…ouch, shit"
He fell on the steps again, as his head started to spin.
"Sorry, I can't"
"You could least try…." The boy said, as tears began appear in his eyes from the pain.
The vampire then slowly walked down the stairs, and sat beside him.
"If you want my theory, the problem isn't just with your leg" he stated. "And you didn't twist it right now; you were limping ever since we left the third laboratory."

The boy didn't know why they stopped. The order, like in many cases, was the same "Search and Destroy" mission. Here they found a base, but the vampire wasn't hurrying to begin the second phase of the order. Instead, they made a camp fire on a hill in the middle of the forest, while on the other side he could see their target, and they waited. For what? The boy didn't know. At first he thought that the vampire wanted the people at the base to see the smoke then come to him. Infact, he had hoped for that. He was tired of waiting, and he badly wanted to fight. But nothing happened. Nobody came and soon the boy understood that there was nothing surprising about that – the sun was almost over the horizon, and it became very dark to see the smoke.
